AUTHENTICITY
AuthenticIty Is The Antidote for AI Fatigue
Do you believe more isolated, the ins expert. No filter, no middleman, no gatekeepers, no paywall.
Put yourself in their shoes; think how awesome it would be to hear directly from you. They can get all their questions and concerns answered from the comfort of their home and can even send you a message about it. This is the power of proximity, and it’s never been closer between you and your patients. What a time to be alive!
Videos are so emotionally engaging because they match the energy of conversations we have are what achieve make us human. People are tired, frustrated, and fed up with being treated like just another number on a spreadsheet.
The biggest trend right now in marketing is ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. I believe as quickly as it arrived, people have become fatigued by it. Intelligence sounds great, but what’s the word before it? Artificial. That’s not a compliment.
The antidote for artificial intelligence fatigue is authenticity.
In our increasingly impersonal culture, especially inside the world of healthcare, people are craving human connection. This is especially true when it comes to a decision as significant and intimidating as what you offer. For many of your patients, you know they’ve been thinking about this every day for years—and for some, even decades. With that comes a laundry list of questions and concerns.
Videos are the most effective and memorable way you can add authenticity to your marketing because they are unique and personal, not generic and corporate. No other marketing comes close to the emotional connection videos create.
When your patients are doing their research, they aren’t just looking for information. They’re looking to meet someone who understands them… someone that will be steadfast by their side during the entire journey… someone who has stories to share of others they’ve helped just like them… someone who gives them confidence in their decision through clarity. They want a relationship!
There’s only one unique variable your marketing must have to create that relationship. It’s not your logo, colors, motto, alma mater, font, location, or equipment. It’s YOU!
Your personality, experiences, perspective, and the way you communicate set you apart. As a private practice owner, you’re uniquely positioned to be hands-on. This level of direct proximity is an unfair advantage that must be used.
VIDEOS are the most effective way to add authenticity to your practice’s marketing. Each video you create that showcases your personality, experiences, and perspective is a one-on-one conversation between you and the patients you want to attract. Unlike an AI written piece that will output a generic answer, I could ask a group of doctors the same question and I would get a unique answer each time. Each answer is based on unique opinions, techniques, experiences, and patient stories.
Videos allow your patients to see your face, hear your voice, and feel your enthusiasm. This level of direct connection between you and your patients would have been unthinkable even 20 years ago. Never before in history have you been able to talk directly to everyone you want to help in such a memorable way. Never before have those searching for information been able to get it directly from the expert. No filter, no middleman, no gatekeepers, no paywall.
Put yourself in their shoes… think how awesome it would be to hear directly from you. This is the power of proximity, and it’s never been closer between you and your patients. What a time to be alive!
Videos are so emotionally engaging because they match the energy of conversations we have in person. The viewer has eye contact with you, sees your expressions, hears your voice and tonality, and listens to your stories and perspective. All together these are what make each of us unique; it’s what makes us human, not artificial.
Videos increase the odds of someone booking a consultation because they act as an icebreaker. When someone gets to meet you through a video, you immediately become more approachable.
Videos are a superior way of getting your patients to understand and retain information. People are much more likely to watch a video than read a long article because written articles can feel distant and impersonal (and are increasingly being written by an AI app!). Videos blend sight, sound, and emotion to create an immersive experience.
I also believe in many regards videos are BETTER than traditional conversations you have in person because they are on demand and shareable. This is something my clients and I have discovered through observation and have benefited from through sheer luck. I’ve never heard this perspective before…
After we have conversations in person, we’re relying on our memory to replay it in our head, and unfortunately our memories are unreliable. With a video, there is no ambiguity. Your patients can and will watch them over and over. Often they’ll even end up sharing them because they seek out approval when making large decisions in life.
Their spouse, children, parents, coworkers, and friends can all become part of the decision-making process. Instead of relying on them to vouch for you and share their recollection of these conversations, they can share these videos. This allows you to have a conversation with them too!
All together the benefits of video are enormous, and they truly are the antidote to artificial intelligence fatigue. When you have these conversations through videos, you show them you understand exactly where they’re at and how no one wants to help them more than you.
The videos I create with my clients open with empathy about the patient’s current state of mind and their goals. Next, we pivot to educating them on the process of how you can help them achieve that goal. This sequence takes them from fearful indecision to optimistic action.
