BLOGGING & EMAIL
Most blogs, especially ones in the world of healthcare, are BORING! There’s no real personality in them so they come off as a lecture from a textbook instead of a conversation. Blogging is marketing, and my view of all marketing is it’s a conversation between your practice and someone you want to help.
The original appeal of blogging in the early years of the internet was it was an electronic journal. It was unique, spontaneous, and every post offered a unique window into someone’s world. Unfortunately, most blogging has devolved into copy-pasted corporate nonsense.
Here’s my approach…
First, it’s all about the one-on-one, conversational tone. Readers—your patients—should feel like you wrote it just for them. I view every blog post as a letter from your practice to your patients. It has you-based language, is rich with info, and reads like you talk. Just think of the tone generic marketing has vs. the tone you have when talking with your best friend. Huge difference, right?
With that said, every blog post has an end goal: keeping existing patients engaged to activate them and organically attract new ones. Each post has a specific intent with a desired outcome (like a blog post comparing Botox and fillers to get more appointments for both), but it reads like an interesting letter, not an ad.
These posts are also SEO-optimized, which just means it’s written to get found online. Better SEO = higher chances of popping up in search results. Most standard SEO blogs are robotic, dry, and dull. They’re written for SEO, not for PEOPLE.
Here’s an example comparison…
Style 1 (Standard SEO Writing)
“A mommy makeover, combining procedures like a tummy tuck and breast lift, is designed to address post-pregnancy body changes. Board-certified plastic surgeons perform these surgeries to tighten abdominal muscles and enhance breast shape, improving patient satisfaction. For those searching ‘mommy makeover near me,’ selecting a clinic with proven results and expertise ensures safety and quality outcomes.”
Style 2 (My Conversational SEO Writing)
“Our moms love their mommy makeovers because it’s like hitting the reset button after kids—specifically a flatter, toned belly and perkier chest. It’s not about changing your body but rather giving you your pre-childbirth midsection back. That’s key, since so many moms tell me they’re worried about looking unnatural or overdone. Our natural approach—restoring core muscles, removing excess skin, and lifting breasts—fixes what pregnancy stretched out.”
From there, I push each post even further…
Email: Convert them into emails to stay connected with patients and nudge the inactive ones back.
Social Media: On Facebook it’s a post with a link, clean image, and catchy caption; on Instagram it’s a profile post. Stories work too, but posts last longer, and there’s unique ways I design them.
Texting: I don’t view these posts as disposable content, but rather your own personal library that we can pull from over and over and over. Over time, you’ll have conversations with patients, think of a post that’s relevant, and then text it to them.
There are also two additional ways I get more mileage from each one…
In-Office Activation: Signage with QR codes linking to the post and reminding patients to check them out.
Print Pieces: I can also turn the best posts into premium pamphlets, brochures, and booklets. All these are bespoke to your practice, beautifully designed, and WILL create conversations with your patients. I’ve shared a long list of examples inside my physical pieces section.
I handle all this for you. One blog post becomes a full media system—email, social media posts, in-office activation, and print pieces. You get tons of leverage from a single post!

Save Your Face
Rachel,
As we get older, our faces start to reveal the toll of fatigue and aging. Below are the most popular treatments we offer to save your face…
BOTOX relaxes your muscles to smooth out wrinkles and lift your brows, giving your eyes a more energetic look.
DERMAL FILLERS restore lost volume around your cheeks and under your eyes. Hyaluronic acid fills in hollow areas to reduce the appearance of bags and even out lines, giving your face a plumper, more youthful shape.
CHEMICAL PEELS gently remove your outer layer of dead skin cells to reveal a fresh, brighter complexion through new cell growth. This process can soften fine lines, fade sun damage, and even out your skin tone.
LASER TREATMENTS help kickstart your face’s natural collagen production, targeting everything from wrinkles to pigmentation issues.
Those treatments are all quick, with minimal downtime. Our patients often do them between errands or on their lunch break. These are more involved surgeries for longer-term results:
A FACELIFT lifts and tightens sagging skin to reshape your jawline for the contoured, youthful look you had in the past.
EYELID SURGERY removes excess skin or fat to open up your eyes, making you look more alert and youthful.
A BROW LIFT elevates a drooping brow to smooth forehead wrinkles and refresh your eye area.
We offer a number of nonsurgical and surgical options to address all of these. Remember to follow us on social media and YouTube, every day we share tips and strategies for you to look and feel your best!
9 Common Causes Of Face Aging
I put together a list of the 9 most common ways our face ages and how we can stop it…
- Wrinkles and Fine Lines: The most common cause of lines on your face is your facial expressions and the sun’s harsh rays. Botox injections nonsurgically relax your facial muscles to smooth out those dark lines.
- Loss of Facial Volume: As we age, our face loses volume leaving us with a hollowed out appearance, especially under our eyes and cheeks. Dermal fillers nonsurgically fill these hollowed out spaces to restore previous fullness.
- Sagging Skin: The natural downward pull of gravity on your face, combined with a decline in natural collagen production, causes your skin to start drooping. A surgical facelift is the most comprehensive and effective way to lift and tighten your face to restore lost tautness.
- Dark Spots: Excessive sun exposure over years can lead to dark spot blemishes. Laser treatments nonsurgically target and lighten these areas to give your skin back its natural, even tone.
- Under-Eye Bags and Dark Circles: A number of factors including aging, genetics, fluid retention, and thin skin cause bags and dark circles under your eyes. Eyelid surgery alters your fat to reduce bags and brighten your under-eye area for a more energized look.
- Drooping Eyelids: Sagging skin and weakening muscles lead to tired and fatigued eyes. Eyelid surgery can also address this by removing excess skin or fat from both the upper and lower eyelids to brighten your under-eye area for a more energized look.
- Loss of Skin Elasticity: As we age your face naturally generates less collagen and elastin leading to a noticeable loss of skin elasticity. Microneedling offers a nonsurgical approach to stimulate your skin’s own repair by jumpstarting your collagen production.
- Neck Wrinkles & Sagging: Your neck often ages more noticeably than any other area on your face, especially when its skin sags to create a jowl. Neck lift surgery smooths these wrinkles out by removing excess sagging skin.
- Sun Damage: Accumulated sun exposure leaves a lasting impact on your face. Chemical peels are a nonsurgical approach that helps remove damaged layers of your skin to reveal the more vibrant, healthier skin underneath.
We offer all of these nonsurgical and surgical options. Remember to follow us on social media and YouTube, every day we share tips and strategies for you to look and feel your best!
What Story Do Your Eyes Tell?
Do your eyes look tired, droopy, and more aged than you feel?
For most of us, regardless of how well we take care of ourselves, it will eventually happen because it is a normal part of aging. Signs of aging around your eyes are particularly noticeable because that skin is some of the most delicate on your body. Here is what causes that aging…
As we age, we lose volume around our eyes because their fat pads shrink. The dark bags you see below your eyes, that make you look tired, are actually shadows cast on this lost volume. Skin laxity is also a significant contributor to aging around your eyes.
Think of your skin like your favorite shirt – when new, the shape was perfect, but over time, it stretched out. Similarly, as the skin around your eyes loses its elasticity, wrinkles and fine lines become more pronounced.
The muscles supporting your eyelids also weaken with age, particularly the upper eyelids, and start drooping to give you a fatigued look.
Lastly, genetic factors, along with lifestyle choices like insufficient sleep, stress, smoking, and excessive sun exposure, further accelerate the signs of aging around your eyes.
Among my most popular nonsurgical treatments for eye rejuvenation are Botox and dermal fillers.
Botox, primarily known as a wrinkle reducer, can also lift your brow area by relaxing the muscles that pull the brows downward. Relaxing these muscles reveals more of your eyes for a more rested look.
Dermal fillers, specifically those containing hyaluronic acid, are injected directly beneath your skin to restore lost volume under your eyes. This softens the appearance of bags by filling out the hollow area.
Both treatments involve a series of small injections, and your appointment from beginning to end will usually last around 30 minutes. There’s virtually no downtime and minimal swelling. Most of our patients return to their daily activities immediately, with some even fitting this into their lunch break or between errands.
These nonsurgical options are ultimately temporary, and if you want the most transformative and long-lasting results, surgery is the best option. Blepharoplasty, commonly known as eyelid surgery, can address your upper or lower eyelids, or both.
For the upper eyelids, the procedure involves me making an incision along the natural crease of your eye to remove excess skin and fat to reduce droopiness and restore a more youthful shape.
For the lower eyelids, incisions are made either just below your lash line or inside your lower eyelid.
This allows for the removal or repositioning of fat, tightening of muscles, and removal of excess skin, which helps in reducing bags, puffiness, and fine lines under your eyes.
Each one can be done in about 90 minutes per eyelid, with recovery typically taking a week or two before you can return to your normal activities.
Every treatment and surgery is tailored specific to the shape of your face and goals to give you the most natural results. Focusing on your eyes is so unique because our eyes are the focal point during conversations. Uniquely enough they are also the least noticeable things. A subtle change, either nonsurgically or surgically, is not as noticeable as other treatments.
If you want your eyes to look more rested, open, and younger just respond EYES to this email. I’ll call to share more info, discuss the options that would be the best fit, and answer your questions.

Tackle These Top Causes Of Skin Aging
I put together a list of the most common causes of skin aging I see and wanted to share it with you. This is a longer two-part email, but I think you will really appreciate it. Part one is the top causes – the before, and part two is the solution – how we can help you reverse them.
Part One: The Top Causes Of Skin Aging
Sun Exposure: Ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun damage your skin cells to break down collagen and elastin. This leads to wrinkles, sagging, and age spots. As years go by this cumulative exposure becomes the cause of the majority of aging on your skin.
Genetics: Your genes help determine the natural aging process of your skin and affect everything from your skin’s thickness to the amount of collagen you produce. Your genetic factors can make you more or less likely to have wrinkles or sagging.
Environmental Factors: Pollution, smoking, and other environmental toxins can accelerate your skin’s aging by damaging skin cells which leads to the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of skin elasticity.
Hormonal Changes: As you age, hormonal fluctuations, particularly the decline in estrogen during menopause, can affect your hydration, elasticity, and thickness. This causes dry skin, wrinkles, and sagging.
Repetitive Facial Expressions: Constant facial movements like squinting or frowning can create wrinkles over time as your skin folds and creases repeatedly in the same areas. These are known as expression and dynamic wrinkles.
Loss of Subcutaneous Fat: As you age the layer of fat beneath your skin thins. This loss of fat leads to a hollow, aged appearance on the face – particularly around your cheeks and under your eyes.
Smoking: If you smoke it accelerates your aging by reducing blood flow. This deprives your skin of oxygen, nutrients, and damages collagen and elastin fibers. The aging toll of this is especially noticeable around your mouth, both as wrinkles and loss of complexion.
Alcohol: Excessive alcohol intake dehydrates your skin, depletes essential vitamins, and causes inflammation. Together these reveal visible signs of aging by leading to puffiness and a loss of elasticity.
Gravity: Gravity will be undefeated on all of us as we age. It contributes to sagging, especially in areas with less underlying support like the cheeks, neck, and jowls. Its most noticeable effect is an overall loss of facial shape and rigidity.
Stress: Your face can become a record of too much stress. It shows up through signs of aging like wrinkles and sagging. Pronounced facial features when stressed like a furrowed brow can exacerbate this.
Sleep Deprivation: Sleep is the most important way our body heals and protects itself. Simply put, when you do not get enough sleep your skin cannot effectively repair itself against all these signs of aging.
Dehydration: Our body is mostly made of water so insufficient water intake leads to dry, flaky, and less resilient skin. Hydration is key for maintaining your skin’s plumpness and elasticity.
Poor Nutrition: An unbalanced diet contributes to your aging by not providing the necessary nutrients to fight damage and support skin health.
Skin Care Routine: Both overdoing it with harsh treatments and neglecting basic care can harm your skin, leading to premature aging due to either damaging the skin’s protective barrier or allowing harmful wear.
Part Two: The Top Ways We Can Help You Reverse Skin Aging
Botox: Botox injections can temporarily relax the muscles on your face that cause dynamic wrinkles. This helps smooth out lines on your forehead, around your eyes, and between your eyebrows.
Dermal Fillers: These injectables add volume to areas where your collagen has depleted. They help reduce static wrinkles, enhance facial contours, and restore fullness and shape to your cheeks, lips, and under-eye bags.
Chemical Peels: By applying a chemical solution to your skin, our peels remove your damaged outer layers. This stimulates new skin growth, improves texture and tone, and can reduce fine lines and sun damage.
Laser Resurfacing: We can remove your outermost layer of skin with precise lasers. This process promotes collagen production which helps reduce wrinkles, scars, and pigmentation to reveal a smoother, more even complexion.
Microneedling: Fine needles are run across your skin to stimulate its natural healing process. This enhances collagen and elastin production to improve skin texture, pore size, and scarring.
Skin Tightening Treatments: Radiofrequency and ultrasound wands apply heat to your face to stimulate collagen production. This collagen production can tighten your skin for subtle lifting and firming.
Facelift: This is a surgical procedure that lifts and tightens your skin and its underlying tissues. It significantly reduces sagging and wrinkles.
Eyelid Surgery: This is a surgical procedure that makes your eyes more alert and youthful. By removing the excess skin, muscle, and fat from your eyelids I can get rid of your drooping upper lids and bags under your eyes.
Brow Lift: This is a surgical procedure that elevates your drooping eyebrows, and reduces forehead wrinkles by lifting the skin and underlying tissues.
Neck Lift: This is a surgical procedure that creates a smoother, more defined neckline by eliminating your jowl. It addresses sagging skin, excess fat, and muscle banding in your neck.
Fat Transfer: This is a surgical procedure that removes fat from one part of your body (typically your abdomen or thighs) via liposuction and injects it into the areas of your face that have lost volume.

Does Plastic Surgery RECOVERY Scare You?
If you’re considering plastic surgery, I’m sure the recovery process is probably your top concern. This is normal and the majority of my patients feel this way too. I wanted to share a couple of the top concerns my patients had and how they felt afterward. I think their experience will surprise you!
First, the pain after surgery is often much less intense than anticipated. My team and I manage your post-operative discomfort, usually with nothing more than standard pain medications you likely have at home already.
Most patients are surprised by how manageable their recovery is, often telling us that their pain was nowhere near as bad as they had feared. Our goal is to ensure your comfort, and we tailor pain management plans to your specific needs, starting before your surgery.
Next is scarring, which is an inevitable part of any surgical procedure. My surgical philosophy when approaching all my surgeries leans on the most natural approach possible. The way my team and I perform your surgery directly impacts the visibility and impact of scarring.
I use specific techniques for each surgery that I will discuss and show you during your consultation. Our post-operative treatments also promote better healing to reduce the appearance of your scars.
Lastly, I know fear of abandonment is a very real concern too. Most of my patients don’t admit this, but I do know What happens after surgery, am I on my own? is on their minds. You are not. Our journey together doesn’t end when you leave the operating room.
For a full year after your surgery, we will be seeing each other for regular follow-ups and milestones. These visits are about monitoring your physical recovery and guiding you through the healing process. If necessary, we’ll provide additional treatments or advice to enhance your recovery and results. The majority of our time together is AFTER your surgery.
I believe my primary goal is to create as much clarity as possible before you get any surgery done. This is an exciting moment that I know you’ve likely been thinking about for years, but that also makes it more intimidating and nerve-racking.
I can assure you the reality is nowhere near as scary as you might imagine because we’ve heard it from countless patients.
If you have been considering plastic surgery I hope this was informative. What questions do you have? What concerns do you have? Let me know!

2 Scariest Parts Of Plastic Surgery
I wanted to share some thoughts with you after a conversation I had with a patient this week. It was a conversation I have a lot actually and I think it might resonate with you. It was about wanting to improve something about your body but being afraid of actually doing it.
If you’re considering plastic surgery of any kind, I know it is likely both exciting and nerve racking. For my patients, this is one of the biggest decisions they’ve made in their lives. It is something they have been thinking about for years, and for some, even decades.
They are not celebrities or people chasing vanity, they are normal people like you and me that want to look and feel their best in the most natural way possible.
What I have noticed is there are really only two things that scare my patients the most – the initial consultation and recovery. I want to discuss both to hopefully give you clarity and peace of mind.
The Initial Consultation…
I know the initial consultation can be an emotional, vulnerable, nervous, and intimidating experience all at once. This meeting often represents the first time my patients have openly discussed their insecurities, concerns, and desires about their appearance with someone who isn’t family or a close friend.
It’s a moment where they step out of the privacy of their own thoughts and into a space where they articulate what they see as flaws or areas that need improvement.
I don’t take the weight of this consultation lightly and how uncomfortable it can be for you. I approach every consultation with empathy, ensuring it’s a private space where your concerns and goals are discussed, respected, and addressed with dignity.
The consultation can be seen as overwhelming, but I want you to view it as nothing more than a conversation. The goal of our conversation is not to convince you whether you should or should not get plastic surgery, but rather to give you complete clarity of the process so you are confident in making a decision that is best suited for your body and goals.
Your Recovery After Surgery…
The recovery after plastic surgery is the second major concern my patients have, and it’s equal parts physical and emotional.
You’d be surprised how many of my patients express that they wish they had gotten their surgery done sooner, not just because of the physical and emotional benefits it gave them, but more surprisingly because the recovery was nowhere near as bad as they imagined going in. Here are their top concerns about recovery…
Pain: Most surgeries I perform require nothing more than standard pain medication you likely already have, and a lot of my patients do not take any at all.
Recovery: Your recovery will vary by surgery, but the main concern is usually how quickly they can get back to a somewhat normal life. This usually happens within days or weeks, not months.
Scarring: Scars are an inevitable part of all plastic surgery, but my surgical philosophy focuses on achieving the most natural results. Minimizing and concealing scarring both during and after surgery is a major part of that.
Follow Up: I continue to see all my patients for follow-up appointments a full year after their surgery.
If you have been considering plastic surgery I hope this was informative. What questions do you have? What concerns do you have? Let me know!
My staff and I create regular educational content on a variety of topics including the surgical and nonsurgical treatments we offer. I enjoy making this content because, like this email, it gives you clarity and peace of mind.
10 Daily Skincare Essentials Cheat Sheet
If you want to keep your skin as hydrated and fresh as possible here are 10 daily skincare essentials to make part of your daily routine…
Daily Cleansing Morning & Night: Cleanse your face twice a day to remove dirt and debris. Use a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser that suits your skin type to avoid stripping natural oils.
Remove Makeup Thoroughly At Night: No matter how tired you are or how big of a pain it is never sleep with your makeup on. Use a gentle makeup remover or micellar water to ensure all traces of makeup, especially around your eyes, are removed to prevent pore-clogging and premature skin wear.
Moisturize Regularly Especially Before Bed: Apply a moisturizer suited to your skin type. Hydration is key to maintaining skin elasticity and preventing fine lines.
Sun Protection: Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 whenever you are exposed to sun. Protection against harmful UV rays prevents photoaging, spots, and wrinkles. Wear long sleeves and a hat for added protection.
Exfoliation: Gently exfoliate your skin once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells that accumulate on the surface of your skin. This promotes cell turnover for a brighter, clearer complexion. Remember to be gentle to avoid irritation, you do not need to scrub hard to exfoliate!
Drink Water: Staying well-hydrated helps moisturize your skin from the inside out. Be mindful of drinking water by keeping it with you at all times as a reminder. Never leave the house without it!
Eye Care: Use an eye cream to protect and hydrate the most delicate skin on your face – around your eyes. Because this area is so fragile it is often the first to show signs of aging like fine lines and puffiness.
Avoid Smoking & Minimize Alcohol: Smoking and excessive alcohol can accelerate aging by damaging your collagen and elastin fibers. This damage is the leading cause of wrinkles and dull complexion. Smoking and alcohol are terrible for your entire body and your skin is no exception.
Quality Rest: A good night’s sleep is arguably the most important part of your wellness routine, for your skin AND your overall health. Nothing you can do matches the impact and importance of sleep. When we sleep, our body heals and regenerates itself. Aim for 7-9 hours of solid sleep per night.
Stress Management: High stress can lead to cortisol spikes, which can degrade collagen. Find simple ways to lower your stress like meditation, yoga, regular exercise, quick walks, and even a nap. Lack of sleep and stress become noticeably visible on your face.
By making these 10 things a part of your daily wellness routine, you will prevent premature aging and maintain your skin’s youthfulness. I recently filmed a walkthrough of my personal favorite skincare products and treatments that I use every day. Click here to check it out!
Do You Protect Your Most Sensitive Skin?
Do you know where the most sensitive skin is on your body? More importantly, do you protect it?
The skin around your eyes is the thinnest skin on your face. It is a staggering one-sixth as thick as the skin on the rest of your body!
The area around your eyes is so vulnerable and fragile because it lacks the natural moisture of the rest of your face so it is the quickest to dry out. Here are a few ways your eyes skin ages quicker…
Aging is an inevitable cause of wrinkles, sagging, and under-eye bags on your eyes as they progressively lose elasticity and collagen.
Rough handling such as aggressive makeup removal or eye rubbing can also accelerate wrinkle formation and cause premature aging.
Repetitive facial movements like squinting, frowning, or smiling repeatedly carve dynamic wrinkles into your thin skin and eventually they can become permanent.
Sun exposure is especially harmful to your eyes because its UV rays penetrate and damage collagen and elastin.
One of the easiest and most stylish ways to protect your eyes is wearing sunglasses. I cannot recommend wearing sunglasses enough because they act as a critical shield for both your eyes and the fragile skin that surrounds them.
By reducing the amount of sunlight against this area they help prevent the loss of collagen, reduce the risk of eyeball issues, and help protect against wrinkles and dark spots.
If you are looking to enhance and improve your eye we offer a couple different options, both nonsurgical and surgical.
Botox injections are highly effective for smoothing out crow’s feet by relaxing the muscles responsible for squinting and smiling lines.
Dermal fillers can be strategically placed under the eyes to fill in the lost volume that causes dark bags.
Laser treatments offer another nonsurgical option to improve skin texture, reduce wrinkles, and address blotchy pigmentation.
Chemical peels, when applied with precision around the eyes, can refresh your texture and tone by scrubbing off dead skin cell and softening fine lines.
Microneedling tightens the skin and smooths wrinkles by gently agitating the skin to jumpstart its natural collagen production.
The most popular surgical option we offer is eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty. This simple surgery removes the excess skin, fat, and muscle from the upper and/or lower eyelids. This corrects drooping eyelids, reduces bags, and eliminates puffiness to make the eyes more alert and youthful.
If you are curious to learn more and want to discuss any of these in detail just respond EYES to this email and we will give you a call.

How The Sun Ruins Your Skin
Lillian,
The summer sun is the harshest sun of the year and poses significant risks to your skin’s health and appearance, but why?
The summer sun is especially harmful to your skin because it has the strongest UV radiation of the entire year. When it comes to UV rays, there are two critical types you need to know: UVA and UVB.
UVB is absorbed by your skin’s outer layers, leading to sunburns and contributing significantly to the risk of skin cancer. UVA penetrates deeper and breaks down collagen and elastin, which accelerates your skin’s aging.
Higher summer temperatures causes your blood vessels to dilate and this brings more UV-sensitive cells closer to the surface increasing the likelihood of them getting damaged.
With enough exposure UV radiation can actually alter the DNA in your skin cells. These are the mutations that can lead to skin cancers.
Continuous sun exposure leads to the breakdown of your collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep your skin firm and elastic.
Not prioritizing the protection of your skin from the summer’s UV rays can lead to wrinkles, sagging, and a loss of skin tone, and in extreme cases, skin cancers like melanoma.
Knowing the damage the summer sun can wreak on your skin is the first step to protecting it. With the right routine you can enjoy the summer sun while safeguarding it.
I recently filmed a detailed video where I went through the most common mistakes people make during the summer, how to avoid them, and a list of my favorite simple and easy ways I, as a plastic surgeon, give my skin maximum protection and how you can too.
Click here to watch it. I hope you enjoy it and please share it with a family member or friend who needs to protect their skin this summer.
What Causes Under Eye Bags?
Did you know under eye bags are not actually dark spots under your skin, but rather shadows? Let me explain…
As we age, our skin loses volume and elasticity due to a decline in collagen, hyaluronic acid, and fat beneath the skin. This leads to the formation of bags under our eyes.
Lifestyle and environmental factors like prolonged sun exposure, smoking, a poor diet, dehydration, and lack of sleep also contribute by accelerating the breakdown of skin-supporting structures.
This loss of volume under your eyes causes this skin to shrink inward. When this happens light is cast on this area to create shadows. The solution to softening under eye bags is refilling this lost volume.
Dermal Fillers, like Juvederm or Restylane, work by adding volume back to the area directly under your eyes. By injecting fillers, we can fill in the hollows. This reduces the shadows that make bags look more prominent to give your under eye area a smoother, more refreshed look.
Fillers are not a permanent solution and it is usually best to stop by a couple times a year. In one short treatment, usually on lunch break or between errands, you can see immediate results. Respond FILLER to this email and I will give you a call to get you on the calendar. Talk soon!
Facts About Face Aging
Sophie,
As we age, our face goes through a series of changes that are both visible on the skin and invisible below it. Here are the facts…
Loss of Elasticity: Collagen and elastin decrease over time. These are the proteins responsible for your skin’s firmness and elasticity. This decrease leads to sagging skin, particularly around the jawline and cheeks, causing facial features to become less defined.
Volume Loss: Fat pads beneath our skin shrink, which leads to hollowed cheeks, sunken eyes, and a more aged appearance. This is most noticeable as dark spots, which are created by shadows from light on these pockets.
Muscle Laxity: Facial muscles also weaken, which causes drooping of the lower face and neck. This is a loss of rigidity and is especially noticeable around the mouth and neck.
Skin Texture Changes: Fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, and rough skin are all a visual record of sun exposure and environmental impact.
Gravity: Perhaps the most straightforward cause of the face being pulled down is gravity. The lack of rigidity and strength in the face from the changes listed above counteracts gravity less and less as we get older.
We offer a number of nonsurgical and surgical options to address all of these. Remember to follow us on social media and YouTube, every day we share tips and strategies for you to look and feel your best!
How Fillers Can Refresh Your Face
Did you know that bags under our eyes, lines from our nose to mouth, and the thinning of our lips are all caused by the same thing?
As we age, our skin loses its volume and elasticity due to a decline in collagen, hyaluronic acid, and fat under the skin. This loss leads to sagging and hollowed out areas on our face.
Some of us are genetically born with less facial volume and unfortunately lose it faster than others.
Lifestyle decisions including prolonged sun exposure, smoking, poor diet, dehydration, and lack of sleep accelerate this breakdown.
They may be caused by the same thing, but they can also be fixed by the same thing: FILLERS!
Dermal Fillers, such as Juvederm or Restylane, work by adding volume back into areas where it has been lost. By injecting fillers into specific areas of your face, we can restore volume to give you a more youthful appearance.
The most popular ways we use fillers are to remove bags from under the eyes, soften lines from the nose to mouth, and plump up lips. Fillers are not a permanent solution and depending on your goals and face it is usually best to stop by a couple times a year.
I cannot recommend fillers enough and we have a range of options available. I love it, my staff loves it, and most importantly of all, our patients love it. In one short treatment, usually on lunch break or between errands, you can see immediate results. Respond FILLER to this email and I will give you a call to get you on the calendar. Talk soon!
How To Fix Facial Fine Lines
Do you know what causes fine lines on our face, especially around our eyes and mouth? A couple things actually…
- As we age our skin loses its elasticity due to a decrease in collagen and elastin production. These are vital proteins that help keep our skin firm.
- Repeated facial expressions like smiling, frowning, or squinting cause dynamic wrinkles and over time those lines become more noticeable.
- UV rays from sun exposure damage the collagen fibers and can lead to premature aging of the skin.
- Lifestyle decisions including smoking, poor diet, dehydration, and lack of sleep accelerate the appearance of fine lines by damaging skin health and reducing its ability to heal itself.
Botox, or Botulinum Toxin, works to soften these fine lines by temporarily relaxing the muscles responsible for wrinkles. By inserting Botox into specific areas on your face we can reduce the movement of the muscles that create expression lines.
This approach prevents the skin above from folding into wrinkles. By softening those lines the result is skin that appears smoother.
The most popular locations we treat with Botox are the forehead, eyes, eyebrows, and mouth. Botox is not a permanent solution and depending on your goals and face it is usually best to stop by a couple times a year to maintain the softened appearance of these lines.
If you have frustrating fine lines on your face I cannot recommend Botox enough. I love it, my staff loves it, and most importantly of all, our patients love it. In one short treatment, usually on lunch break or between errands, you can see immediate results. Respond LINES to this email and I will give you a call to get you on the calendar. Talk soon!
Botox vs. Fillers – Which Is Better?
Hazel,
What do dark spots under your eyes, fine lines around your mouth and eyes, and a loss of cheek volume, all have in common?
They can be erased with Botox and fillers! Here is how each works…
Botox, or Botulinum Toxin, is unique because it focuses on the muscles inside your face and controlling their movement. It’s particularly effective for dynamic wrinkles, which are caused by repeated muscle contractions.
The areas around your eyes are especially vulnerable to these wrinkles due to its thinness and fragility. This is the cause of crows feet around the eye. Botox softens lines and wrinkles on your skin by relaxing the mussels below them.
Fillers, or dermal fillers, in contrast to Botox, focus on adding volume rather than controlling muscle movement. These fillers are primarily composed of hyaluronic acid, a substance that’s naturally made in your body.
As you age, your face naturally loses volume, and this is particularly noticeable under your eyes, cheeks, and lips. That skin is especially thin so the loss of support from underlying fat pads becomes more evident.
Fillers work by attracting water to the site of injection, which not only fills but also lifts the skin to provide a plumper, more youthful appearance.
Both Botox and fillers are not permanent and for most of my patients I recommend a couple visits per year as a part of their facial aesthetic routine.

I wanted to share the common causes of lip aging, dos and do nots for your lips, and some options we have available to give you fuller, more luscious lips…
My patients are particularly drawn to enhancing their lips because it is a quick way for them to rejuvenate their whole face.
Fuller, more youthful lips help them better express their personal style through shapes and shades of lipstick or gloss.
Did you know your lips have some of the thinnest skin on your entire body and because of that they age quicker? They contain minimal melanin and fat, which makes them especially vulnerable to sun damage, dehydration, and the natural loss of collagen and elasticity over time.
Common causes of dry, shrinking lips include sun exposure, smoking, repetitive movements like pursing or puckering, and the general decline in skin elasticity as you age. These factors lead to thinner, less defined, and more wrinkled lips.
My patients say they look and feel older than they are because of this. It’s a major factor in how they view their face in the mirror and you might be there now too.
When it comes to maintaining and enhancing your lips, here are some dos and don’ts:
Do keep them hydrated with lip balms containing SPF, moisturize them regularly, and exfoliate gently to remove dead skin.
Don’t smoke, as it significantly accelerates lip aging, avoid licking your lips which dries them out, and steer clear of harsh chemicals or over-exfoliation.
Hyaluronic acid fillers are our most popular option if you want to add volume and definition without downtime. In a short session, you get immediate results with no downtime and the results can last several months.
We tailor each filler treatment based on the contours of your face and goals to give you the most natural results. If you want fuller, more luscious lips, just respond LIPS to this email. I’ll text you to share more info and answer your questions.

How To Reverse 6 Signs Of Face Aging
Do you know the 6 most common signs of face aging? More importantly do you want to know how to reverse them without surgery? Here they are…
- Fine Lines & Wrinkles
Smiling, laughing, and sun exposure can lead to fine lines and wrinkles. If you’re looking to smooth them out a quick session with Botox or fillers can make those lines shrink to give you a more youthful look without surgery.
- Loss Of Volume
Ever notice your cheeks losing that youthful fullness? Or maybe bags under your eyes? That’s volume loss at work. Fillers are a great way to quickly add volume so you can enjoy immediate results with minimal recovery time.
- Sagging Skin
Does it feel like your face is beginning to droop? That’s gravity’s impact as we age. Over time your skin starts to stretch out and droop. It happens everywhere and is most noticeable on your face and neck. PDO threads provide a subtle lift with minimal downtime.
- Age Spots & Sun Damage
Unsightly spots and uneven skin tone are often the result of prolonged sun exposure. Advanced laser treatments and a professional chemical peel can help remove those damaged layers to reveal healthier, more rejuvenated skin.
- Drooping Eyelids
If sagging eyelids are making you look constantly tired, Botox can offer a subtle brow lift, while fillers can address under-eye hollows, providing a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance without the need for surgery.
- Loss Of Lip Definition
Have you noticed that your lips have lost their shape and fullness? That’s a natural part of aging. Lip fillers can volumize your lips and smooth out vertical lines to help return them to a more youthful shape.
